How to care your garden in spring

Gardening and Agriculture

Just after spring all of us who have an orchard or are thinking of creating it, we must know the factors that will influence its correct maintenance to have an orchard in perfect condition. In each season there are peculiarities and characteristics that will require being treated in different ways if you want to have a prosperous orchard.

Therefore, before you start planting the crops you must prepare the land properly, otherwise the results will not be as expected.

Add mulch to the ground

It is a kind of organic matter that what it will do is improve the structure of the earth and give it more sponginess. This will greatly benefit the growth of the roots of your crop.

Subscriber

The subscriber system is essential for producing quality and eco-friendly products, so we must use a specialized one for organic farming.

Mechanical or rotavator mule

Through this tool we will release the earth and leave it ready to start sowing.

Avoid weeds

To get rid of these weeds, a good option is to use a layer of dried grass, and so we don’t let these unwanted herbs grow.

Prepare your irrigation system

April is an ideal month to prepare all the planting of summer crops, and with it its irrigation system to hydrate your crops during the hot months ahead. If you already have one, consider that it works properly or if any repairs or changes need to be made. In the event that this is your first time, analyze what needs your garden has and get the most suitable hydraulic system for you and your crops.

If in your case what you have is an urban garden, it will be very important to analyze the amount of substrate needed for your pot-garden. We recommend using an organic substrate that is light, retaining a lot of water, aeration and with lots of nutrients.

Once we have prepared the land on which we will see our crops and vegetables grow, we can proceed to take the first steps:

Crop lines

It is recommended to create different growing lines in the same orchard so that you can move comfortably through it so that the plantas themselves do not bother each other.

Garden design

Located in the northern part of the orchard, we will place the larger crop so that it does not disturb the rest and does not shade them. A good example would be green beans, as the plant can reach two meters in height.

Plantation order

A tip on how to organize your garden, taking into account the height and the time of year, would be as follows:

Green beans, tomatoes, peppers, courgettes, cucumbers or pumpkins, and lastly, in the south, lettuces and/or onions.

We hope that our tips will be of great help and you can collect high quality organic products!
