This year more than ever, all swimming pools, whether they are permanent or removable, must have drastic hygiene measures not only for the good maintenance of the pool but also for sanitary reasons. That is why today we are going to talk about how to clean pools to avoid infections and, above all, even if there is no evidence that the virus can be transmitted to people through water, to keep coronavirus away from our pools.

To begin with, we must keep the water clean to keep your pool disinfected by treating it often. People are the biggest source of infection, so it is also recommended to shower ourselves before getting in the pool.

Water treatment and infection prevention products for a disinfected pool

There are several options for water treatment:

– Chlorine

It is the most used product since it avoids the proliferation of fungi, bacteria, virus and algae. It has to be used when there is no one bathing. We have to adapt the amount to the liters of water in the pool to avoid damaging it. To obtain the adequate level of free chlorine in the water, it is very common to use chlorine tablets or liquid chlorine products. It is recommended to automate the dosing and control process.

– Sodium hypochlorite:

This is a compound product that also contains chlorine, but in an oxidized state. Therefore, it is a strong but economical oxidant that due to its characteristics is used as a disinfectant.

– Hydrogen peroxide:

It is a kind of hydrogen peroxide specific for this purpose. It is also a product used to disinfect, but it is less corrosive to skin and eyes.

– Filtering systems:

And of course, the filter is also very important. There are also portable filters for removable pools that help to purify the water and to distribute correctly the mentioned products that act as disinfectants.
