In our blog, we have talked many times about the amazing characteristics and advantages of polyethylene for water tanks and reservoirs.

If we focus on high-density polyethylene and its many applications, one of them is its use in the manufacture of water tanks or reservoirs for the storage of water or other liquids, such as chemicals, in large quantities.

Brief reminder… What can we highlight about Polyethylene? Well, its high resistance to external agents, and its economic price. Especially in comparison with other materials.

Polyethylene tanks represent a very good solution for everyone who deals with water supply and the guarantee of its saving and quality. However, in the past these tanks were not made of PE. The materials used were not nearly as reliable and effective as polyethylene.

Why? They were materials with low impermeability, so the storage time was shorter, and that was a big problem. And those that lasted longer began to deteriorate due to humidity, and all this resulted in a great loss of water quality.

Also, they were very heavy tanks and their transportation was quite complex and therefore also more costly. This, added to their short life span, meant a very unprofitable process.

Polyethylene: the most effective material for water tanks

At Llaberia Group we have always bet on Polyethylene, since our beginnings. We are experts in the design and manufacture of PE tanks, including the production of these products tailored to the customer’s needs.

Nowadays, it has been proven over time that Polyethylene is the most effective and reliable material for the construction of tanks and reservoirs. We can clearly detect some of its advantages.

Advantages of Polyethylene (PE) tanks and reservoirs

  1. Low costs: polyethylene is considerably less expensive than its competitors, and if you add to this its resistance and lightness, it makes a perfect combo.
  2. Impermeability: the characteristics of polyethylene that guarantee its impermeability ensure that the water inside the tank remains clean and isolated from external agents and dirt.
  3. Versatility: inside a polyethylene tank you can store other food or chemical products and ensure their protection. Therefore, its use is not exclusively for water.
  4. High resistance to the sun’s rays: its manufacture with ultraviolet (UV) protection allows them to be installed outdoors in any place without having to worry about being damaged by the sun’s rays, or that the water will be deteriorated or infected by bacteria.
  5. Long useful life: the average durability of a polyethylene tank or reservoir is 30 years. At Llaberia we offer tanks of this same durability and if you perform a proper maintenance they can last much longer.
  6. Flexibility: among other characteristics, polyethylene is a very flexible material, which offers the possibility of manufacturing tanks or reservoirs in different shapes, according to the customer’s needs.
  7. High lightness: the lightness of polyethylene will allow moving, relocating and transporting tanks or reservoirs very easily and in a very manageable way.
  8. Easy and quick maintenance: for this you do not need specific tools and products, but with the same cleaning products that you have at home for other tasks you can perfectly clean the tank or reservoir and keep it in great conditions.

We hope we have helped you and that you have finally made up your mind about what type of water tanks to install, so please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have!
