  • Ratchet type plastic pipe cutters

At Llaberia Group we recommend using a plastic pipe cutter with ratchet because of its safety as opposed to a scissor type pipe cutter. In the second option, the necessary strength required can sometimes be extreme and could cause injuries.

You should not find it difficult to perform this action. The important thing is that where we mark the cut of our pipe, we focus on keeping our pipe cutter there, without it moving. In this way, we will achieve a precise and flawless cut.

Using a hacksaw

To use this tool, the use of a vise is highly recommended. The hacksaw is probably the tool that comes to mind when thinking about cutting a plastic pipe. This tool will need that the pipe is well fastened thanks to the vise to avoid injuries, since with the strength of the saw if the pipe is not well fastened we can suffer a cut.

On the other hand, if we do not have a vise at our disposal, we can use a work clamp.

We will have to hold the pipe a few centimeters away from where we are going to cut to have maximum support and precision at the time of making the cut in the mark we have made.

A piece of advice from us: if we can hold the pipe on both sides, the better precision and clamping we will have. It is very important to hold the handle of the saw firmly and with the other hand push down the upper part of the saw, with its teeth already on the pipe so that it does not start with irregularities in the cut.

With a miter saw

If you want to make specific or large quantity cuts in a PVC pipe, the best option will be to use a miter saw.

With a 10 teeth per inch wood blade, the standard size on many miter saws will be more than enough to cut the pipe as you please.

The process of using the miter saw is very simple, so you will be cutting your PVC pipe in no time.

It is very important not to use table saws, band saws or wood saws, they are neither prepared nor designed for this type of material and can cause serious damage. Finally, use protection in all cases. The pipe could break and several pieces could fly through the air, causing injuries.
