Did you know all that a multilayer pipe can offer you? Read on and we will tell you about its advantages, applications and installations.

Its most common uses are to move water intakes from one place to another (for example, we want to remove our bathtub to put a shower tray). And for heating systems.

Multilayer pipes are made of an inner and outer layer of polyethylene and a layer of welded aluminum in between.

Advantages of multilayer pipes and making a multilayer installation

  • High resistance to pressure and extreme temperatures
  • Very high durability
  • Low thermal conductivity
  • Corrosion resistant
  • Not electrically conductive
  • Less noisy than conventional copper pipes
  • Do not retain scale
  • Multilayer pipes are cheaper
  • They exert an anti-oxygen barrier, which delays the oxidation of metal heating elements.
  • They are malleable and flexible

Now that we have convinced you that this is the best option on the market if you want to do it yourself, let’s see how to prepare the multilayer pipe for installation.

  • With a pipe cutter, cut the pipe at the point where you want the desired length.
  • Place the compression nut on the tube and the compression ring.
  • With a flaring tool, widen, round and/or expand the mouth of the multilayer pipe to your liking.
  • Insert the male part of the fitting into the pipe and tighten with wrenches until it stops.
  • With an external spring, bend the pipe as required.
  • Pull out the spring

Now you have the tube ready to install it where you need it.
