Types of water treatment

Industrial Osmosis

Taking into account the scarcity of the natural water resource, Llaberia implements the industrial osmosis process to convert brackish and salt water into drinking water. Pretreatment is necessary before carrying out this treatment. We condition the water to avoid decreasing the elements that may impair the treatment performance. We analyze in depth the state of the water, both in dissolution and suspension, and thus perform the treatment properly.

Reverse osmosis is a technological process of water purification. The system is based on applying a certain pressure on a concentrated solution. The solution will pass through semi-permeable membranes that will retain as many salts as possible, in order to obtain water with less salinity.

Reverse osmosis is increasingly in many industrial applications, especially when there is a need for large filtrations.

Advantages of industrial osmosis

Thanks to this water treatment, very positive solutions have been found for the industrial sector. For example:

Industrial Ultrafiltration (UF)

The industrial ultrafiltration system is the system through which we perform a process of separation by pressure by membranes,water is not purified by a chemical or biological process. Thanks to this system it is possible to remove the particles contained in the water (colloids, sediments, etc.).

In addition, ultrafiltration effectively eliminates both bacteria and the vast majority of viruses. With this system it will no longer be necessary to use clarifiers or multimedia filters.

The usual design of this system consists of a UF module with external flow configuration that allows less plugging, greater solids load, greater flow area and easy cleaning.

Water descaling is a fundamental treatment in multiple industrial processes. Water contains lime that normally inlays that cause breakdownsAnd,therefore, an increase in costs maintenance and increased energy consumption.

Nitrification and denitrification

This process involves removing nitrogen from wastewater. The result is achieved by two stages. The first is nitrification, where the oxygen demand of ammonia decreases, but nitrogen is not yet eliminated.

In the second stage, denitrification, nitrogen becomes a gaseous element that eventually becomes eliminated.

For Llaberia this treatment in waste water is the most appropriate biological method due to its high degree of effectiveness, reliability and also with a lower cost than other methods.

Industrial disinfection

At Llaberia Group we care about the quality and health of water. That's why we have a high range of water disinfection equipment, both for the different types of disinfection and in flow rates to be treated.

We offer the possibility of different types of water disinfection processes on an industrial level. They are as follows:

Disinfection of water by chlorination

Sodium hypochlorite is the most economical and reliable formula for water disinfection. Thanks to the application of the product in the water and following the regulations, the organic matter that can contain the water is oxidized and a water is obtained disinfected and prepared to be consumed.

In our company we have water disinfection equipment through dosing of semi-automatic and automatic sodium hypochlorite. Automatic equipment gives great safety and control, as they regulate the amount of free chlorine in the water and if necessary doses the product with the appropriate intensity and quantity. PH should also be monitored to avoid significant variations.

Ultraviolet water disinfection

The application of ultraviolet light in the water objectives to attack the body's DNA to destroy its ability to reproduce and infect it. Through the use ofUV light lamps,water is recirculated. At the exit of the equipment you get a water without infections and ready for installation.

Ozone water disinfection

Ozone is an agent with a lot of disinfection power thanks to its great oxidation capacity. Ozone destroys the cell wall and leaves the microorganism completely inactive. Aerostrips: fine bubble diffusers

Thanks to the collaboration of Llaberia Group with Iberospec, a leading company in the water treatment and environmental management sector, we have diffusers with polyurethane membranes mounted on a PVC or stainless steel body. Unlike EPDM membranes, polyurethane does not require additives or plasticizers that are degraded.

By using these diffusers we transmit to microorganisms the oxygen necessary for bacteria to produce enzymes that help break down residues so that they can settle in secondary decanters or be filtered by membranes.

Treatment stations: ETAP and EDAR

What is an ETAP?

A drinking water treatment station (ETAP) is the infrastructure where water is managed in such a way that it becomes the ideal water for human consumption. In ETAP different types of treatments are carried out to carry out this process, and these is where Llaberia Group comes into action.

What is an EDAR?

A wastewater treatment plant (EDAR) is the infrastructure in which wastewater is treated, water that has already been used for both urban and industrial consumption.

This wastewater is subjected to a series of chemical, physical and biological treatments in order to exterminate all the contaminating particles that it may contain. After being purified, this water is returned to its natural environment, where it will subsequently be collected again for water purification and human consumption.
