The II Biennial of Sculpture Valldoreix dels somnis awarded Estanislau Roca Calaf the first prize in his sculpture Site, sponsored by the company Llaberia Group.

On October 20 began the II Biennial of Sculpture Valldoreix dels somnis, organized by Amicart Valldoreix, the EMD (Decentralized Municipal Entity) of Valldoreix and the City Council of Sant Cugat. Estanislau Roca Calaf has received the first prize for his work Site, sponsored by the Montbrió del Camp company Llaberia Group. The award-winning sculpture is located in the Sant Cebrià Park in Valldoreix and can be visited permanently.

Among the features of this artwork, PVC stands out as the main element. It can be appreciated how this material is present throughout the sculpture in the form of 50 pipes of 2 meters high that together form the word “Site”, which can be read from above. PVC is one of the main plastics used by the Tarragona-based company Llaberia Group.
Roca Calaf has conveyed the following idea about his work:

“This sculpture wasn’t designed to be implanted in a place with a particular nature; the sculpture brings out the condition of the place where it is implanted.”  With these words the artist reaffirms the strength that characterizes his piece.

The second prize went to Hélix, by Pienso, and the third prize (to the emerging artist under 30 years old) to Ambos mundos, by Dani Berenguer. Two honorable mentions were also awarded, one for Camino a la privacidad-tras el sueño, by Maïs and the second for Sucesión en el espacio, by Miguel Andrino.

The winning artworks, such as the one by Estanislau Roca Calaf, become part of the heritage of the organizing association Amicart and can be visited in the public space indefinitely.

The second edition of the Biennial has selected a total of 31 works that can be visited until December 20. They are distributed in four different spaces: Passeig de Francesc Macià and Carrer de Castellví, Parc de les Oles-La Serreta, Club Esportiu Valldoreix and finally Parc de Sant Cipriano, where we find the winning art piece of this edition, among other ones.
