Plumbing and sanitation

Don’t know how to clean your home faucet? We have all wondered how to leave our kitchen or bathroom faucet as shiny as the first day. In Llaberia Group we are going to solve these doubts in 5 minutes.

First, we must distinguish how to clean the faucet depending on the type of finish and material of ours.

Chrome faucets

Obviously, the deterioration of a product is noticeable as time goes by. In the case of a chrome-plated faucet, you begin to notice traces of drops and stains as a result of the limescale carried by the water that circulates through it.

These stains, unfortunately, are inevitable. But in Llaberia Group we know how to get rid of them and make your faucets look like the first day.

The first and most important thing is not to use bleach or similar products to clean our chrome faucet. These products contain caustic soda or ammonia and can seriously affect our chrome plating.  Let’s not forget that ketones and alcohols can also damage our faucet and should not be used either.

We must clean our faucet regularly so that the dirt is not difficult to remove. The best advice we can give you is to dry the faucet every time we have finished using it with a clean soft cloth. Thanks to this we prolong its conservation.

The best products to clean our faucet should be of natural origin or as close to it as possible.

The best trick to clean without damaging your faucet is to apply a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. We will apply the baking soda all over the surface of our faucet and remove the excess. Then, we will apply the vinegar in the areas where there is more dirt. We can leave it to act for as many hours as we want, it is completely harmless for our tap. Then, with a brush we will rub the dirt and remove it with water. Finally, we will dry with a dry cloth.

Stainless steel faucets

Stainless steel faucets are really easy to clean if we take constant care of them. It is normal that, with the passage of time and prolonged use, some stains and traces of calcifications appear on our faucet. But that is no problem, in Llaberia Shop we give you some tricks to have your faucet like new.

When we talk about superficial and/or recent stains, a little dishwashing liquid is enough. We will mix warm water with a little dishwashing liquid and with a soft sponge or a cloth we can rub and clean the dirt from our faucet. When we have rubbed all the stains, we will rinse with abundant water. You can apply this solution whenever you want as maintenance for your stainless steel faucet.

If your faucet has deeper stains, lemon juice will be your best ally to remove them. This solution is very easy to apply, just cut a lemon in half and rub it all over the faucet until its juice is well impregnated in it. Then you will have to wait for it to dry and rinse it with warm water and a cloth.

When our faucet is very dirty, white vinegar can be the solution to our problems. The quickest way to get rid of the dirt is to dilute a little white vinegar in warm water and wipe the faucet with a cloth. To clean your faucet more thoroughly, mix white vinegar with baking soda or coarse salt and rinse with plenty of water to remove the residue.
